Our Story: Gail & Trish Taylor – Pioneers in Surrogacy
Gail and Trish Taylor’s story began in 1991 when they met and knew that building a family would be their top priority. Little did they know that their journey would not only lead them to create their own family but also to assist thousands of others in starting their own family journeys. Trish desired a biological connection but did not want to become pregnant at the time. With the generous offer of a donor from Trish’s brother, Gail and Trish embarked on their path to parenthood.

Their first success came through artificial insemination, with Gail carrying their daughter, Chloe, and later their son, Junah, both born via artificial insemination using an anonymous donor, with Gail again giving birth. In 2002, Trish expanded their journey by becoming a surrogate herself, delivering a healthy baby boy for a couple in New York. As proud gay parents and now grandparents, Gail and Trish have founded three groundbreaking corporations that continue to thrive in the surrogacy industry today.

Breaking Barriers in the Surrogacy Industry
Before co-founding their own agency, Gail worked at a leading surrogacy and egg donation agency that played a crucial role in establishing some of the original surrogacy laws in California. During her tenure, Gail witnessed the surrogate industry's limited acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. Many gay male friends faced severe challenges in adopting children and were often blocked by surrogacy and egg donation agencies. These experiences fueled Gail and Trish’s determination to advocate for the rights of gay men to create their own families through surrogacy, laying the groundwork for today’s widespread acceptance and practice of surrogacy and egg donation in the gay community.

In 1995, Gail and Trish co-founded Growing Generations, one of the first surrogacy agencies dedicated to providing surrogacy services for the gay community worldwide. Under Gail’s leadership as president, the firm became a leading global surrogacy agency, facilitating thousands of gay families in achieving their dreams of having a biological connection to their children.

Advancing Surrogacy and Insurance Needs
Understanding the financial and logistical challenges of surrogacy, Trish was inspired to create a groundbreaking insurance company. Her 20-year dedication as a Lloyd’s of London Coverholder and surplus lines insurance broker revolutionized how surrogacy, egg donation, and infertility treatments are covered through insurance programs today. Trish’s expertise ensured that financial barriers were minimized, making the path to parenthood more accessible for many families.

Chloe joined Choice Surrogacy in 2019. As Program Manager, Chloe has been instrumental in the agency’s success. Chloe’s compassionate nature and exceptional organizational skills ensure that each surrogacy journey is handled with the utmost care and attention. She is the “eyes and ears” of Choice Surrogacy. Chloe is married to her husband Tyler and together have three children, Elton, Quinn and Graham.

Junah Taylor: Bridging Creativity and Strategy
Junah, a senior at Occidental College in Los Angeles, is set to graduate in May with an Economics major /minor in Media Arts and Culture. Balancing his studies with his role as Advertising Assistant at Choice Surrogacy, Junah brings creativity and strategic thinking to the agency. His work expands Choice’s reach through innovative marketing strategies, ensuring that more families can benefit from their services.

We share the ranch with horses, barn cats, our standard poodles and Great Dane, and a large flock of wild turkeys”. Gail loves that she went from being called "Mama Gail" to "Mimi" and Trish cherishing graduating from "Ta" to "Tee Tah". The grandkids' favorite ranch activity is driving tractor on the lap of Tee Tah.

Chloe and her husband Tyler are homeschooling their children, integrating ranch life into their educational journey. The ranch offers, hands-on learning environment where children can explore, learn, and grow amidst the beauty of the outdoors.

For the Taylors, advocacy has always been about visibility and living authentically. They believe that the best way to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community is to live openly and proudly, representing their family just like any other family in the neighborhood. From big city life to small town Texas the Taylors continue to stand for equality and were a contributing entity to the City of Wimberley annual Pride Month Proclamation. Wimberley is a Texas town of population less than 3,000 people. The city now stands for inclusion, true unity and promotes dignity and equality for all LGBTQ+ people in our community.

Over the past 30 years, the Taylors have helped create thousands of gay families, one child, family, and community at a time, residing all over the world. Their biggest accomplishment lies in the daily moments shared with their children and grandchildren. Additionally, Choice recently had a surrogate deliver a surrogacy baby, following in her mother's footsteps, who was also a surrogate two times in the past when Gail was involved in surrogacy over twenty years ago.
