AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
THE ACADEMY PROJECT
https://www.theacademyproject.org
The Academy Project (TAP) 501c3 provides resources, services, and advocacy to foster youth in Los Angeles, CA through community, education, and empowerment. The youth we serve actively guide TAP and its current and future programming, contributing a deep understanding of the challenges foster youth face today. We bring these insights to every aspect of the work we do. The design of TAP’s program of services has been heavily influenced by research and findings that show placement stability and at least one relationship with a consistent, caring, responsible adult have significantly beneficial effects on changing outcomes for foster and at-risk youth.
The Co-Op, TAP’s after-school program for foster youth, launched in 2017 and has been partnering with Los Angeles Unified School District to bring the programming to foster youth in LA. A year ago, TAP moved to its own, stand alone location which has allowed them to greatly improve their program and serve more foster youth from many schools in the area. Camp Xavier is a week-long day camp for 50 foster youth ages 8-11, provided in partnership with Loyola High School Los Angeles. TAP is going into its 10th year this July!

Shine even brighter this summer at Wolf Performing Arts Center’s Summer Theatre Camp!
Led by industry professionals for over 19 years, campers from Kindergarten through 12th grade are immersed in theatre programs that focus on making connections, building creativity, and gaining confidence through a variety of performance opportunities. Our community of talented and creative theatre professionals are excited to share a summer filled with acting, singing, dancing, storytelling, script writing, musical theatre, friendships, and so much more!
Brand new this summer, our MINIS program will give our rising kindergarteners the opportunity to fall in love with theatre! For rising 1st & 2nd graders, CUBS one-week sessions will feature original scripts inspired by beloved fairy tales as these young actors cultivate their singing, acting, and dancing skills. PAC campers, rising 3rd -8th graders, will build upon their musical theatre skills while working as an ensemble toward a final performance. There are 3 options for high school rising 9th -12th graders. New this summer is our SUMMER NIGHTS program where actors will perform a staged reading of a smash hit Broadway musical. SUMMER STUDIO will participate in a varied theatrical experience such as a short one-act play, cabaret, and more! Counselors-in-Training (CITs) will assist with all aspects of the camp day, including tending to camper needs and assisting with rehearsals for the final performance. Camp is 10 weeks - June 16-August 29th, 2025.
