Keewaydin Temagami, located on a rustic island in Northern Ontario, offers a wilderness canoe-tripping camp experience where young people grow through adventure, responsibility, and meaningful connection. For more than 130 years, Keewaydin has helped campers develop confidence, independence, and strong character -far from screens and deeply rooted in the natural world.
At the heart of the Keewaydin experience is mentorship. Campers live and travel in small groups led by exceptional role models who do more than teach skills. Our staff lead by example, demonstrating patience, integrity, and care while actively supporting each camper’s growth. They are deeply invested in sharing Keewaydin with every camper, helping young people feel known, grow strong, and become capable.
Days are filled with paddling pristine lakes, cooking over campfires, swimming, hiking, and sharing stories at the end of long days. Campers learn to work as a team, take responsibility for themselves and others, and meet challenges with resilience and good humor. Our all-boys and all-girls programs emphasize emotional growth, leadership, and respect within a close-knit community.
For families seeking a tech-free summer experience grounded in mentorship, tradition, and purpose, we offer something enduring: a place where young people are guided, supported, and inspired to become their best selves. Join us.

BEN LOMOND QUAKER CENTER SUMMER CAMPS
There is nothing like summer camp at Quaker Center – an unforgettable experience of friendship, service, art and fun in the redwoods. Campers are also introduced to Quaker practices such as collective silence and group decision-making.
Our small camp is under the care of Friends (Quakers) and takes place in a Friendly setting of peace, inclusivity and mutual respect. However, campers do not have to be Quaker to attend. Everyone is welcome at Quaker Center camp!
Our camps are divided into two sessions: the first, for rising 5th to 7th graders, includes many of the most well-loved elements of QC camp: art projects, a service project, visits to a river and a swimming pool, and a wonderful day and sunset at the beach. Back at Quaker Center, campers will enjoy lots of games, hiking (including a silent night-hike to the labyrinth), campfires and the famous QC camp dance party.
The second session, for older teens (rising 8th to 10th graders), includes traditional QC Camp pieces (you’re never too old for hiking, beach sunsets and campfire songs). Campers will travel together to social justice organizations in our area, and get a chance to learn about them and participate in their work.

HIDDEN VILLA SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS
https://www.hiddenvilla.org/programs/summer-camps/region-HV/
Hidden Villa summer camp programs foster a love of learning about ourselves and others through a framework built on respect for differences and our shared responsibility to create positive change in our families, communities, and the world.
Whether six or sixteen, campers explore our wilderness, tend our garden, and engage with our social justice curriculum through hands-on farm life. At every age, we encourage youth to practice curiosity, think critically, and advocate for themselves and others.
For our youngest campers, staff model acceptance and self-expression through clothing choices that challenge gender stereotypes. Our teens in the Farm and Wilderness program connect their hands-on farming experience to larger social issues—exploring immigrants & rights in today’s society while learning about Hidden Villa’s history with Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers movement.

Whether they’re embarking on a thrilling outdoor excursion, honing their artistic skills in the crafts studio, or bonding with new friends around the campfire, campers are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, try new things, and embrace the spirit of exploration.
Under the guidance of experienced counselors, activity specialists, and instructors, campers develop valuable life skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. They also learn to appreciate and respect the natural world, gaining a deeper understanding of ecology, conservation, and sustainability through hands-on experiences in the great outdoors.
Throughout their time at Jameson Ranch Camp, campers form lasting friendships, create cherished memories, and forge connections with mentors who inspire and empower them to reach their full potential. CAMP CLIO
Empowering Adoptees Since 2012
July 26 – August 8, 2026
Since 2012, Camp Clio has provided adopted children ages 9-14 the opportunity to enjoy all the fun of traditional summer camp while staying in cabins with other adopted children. The relaxed, safe, and non-judgmental environment of a cabin filled with other campers who are “just like me” encourages exploration of identity, family connectedness, and curiosity about birth families.
Counselors in the Clio cabins are either themselves adopted or have a demonstrated interest in working with adoptees (many are studying social work at university). Sharing their adoption stories with new friends, they can begin to understand that complicated feelings are perfectly normal, shared by their fellow campers, and that they are not alone.
YMCA Camp Jewell, rated the #1 sleepaway camp in CT, hosts Camp Clio in their new Clio Village, exclusively for adopted campers. The 500-acre facility, located in Colebrook, CT, is shared with the non-adopted campers who attend Camp Jewell. Swimming, archery, sports, etc.—the good “old-fashioned” camp activities and meals are shared with the entire camp population. Cabin and Village activities are exclusively with other adoptees, allowing campers to really bond.
Many Clio campers have become lifelong friends. Camp Clio is honored to continue working with the Center for Adoption Support and Education (CASE) on the adoption program for Clio campers, held during the stay-over weekend of the two-week program.
Prior to campers’ arrival, all counselors in Clio cabins attend a workshop with CASE adoption-certified therapists where they learn the camper adoption activities and ways to guide conversations in a positive direction. CASE’s nationally acclaimed WISE UP program is only a part of the adoption program. Adoption discussions, Adoption Bingo, Adoption Story Book creation, and CASE’s new Behind the Mask workbook are only a few of the activities led by CASE therapists.
For information and registration contact sandy@CampClio.org, (www.CampClio.org) 646-285-6237 or camp.Jewell@ghymca.org (CampJewell.org) 860-379-2782. Tiered pricing and need-based financial assistance are available.

I think it gives them a chance to gain insight into their experiences so they can imagine what their own futures may look like. It is also terrific for the kids to meet peers and share experiences. The Farm School is an absolutely beautiful place, and that is a gift unto itself.”
One camper wrote, “I’d give up my phone for this camp.”

THE STORY SCHOOL
Story-based, STEAM Adventure Camp in Charlton, MA
www.thestoryschool.org
The Story School has been delivering immersive, interactive, and inclusive overnight camp adventures since 2013.
We build “character” by encouraging our heroes to be courageous, honorable, and compassionate in a story that reacts to their every choice. Education and imagination collide in our “STEAM-powered” adventures and heroes are challenged to complete engineering projects, master math puzzles, and solve chemical formulas to advance the story and level up new abilities. Campers are invited to try on and test out aspects of their identity when playing their character, encouraged to accept everyone for who they say they are, and driven as heroes to defend and protect each other. Differences are embraced and celebrated in our fantasy worlds creating an LGBTQ+ and neuro-diverse friendly community.
Our overnight adventures start at age 8 and continue up to 17 for our teen adventurers with Counselor-In-Training programs and employment opportunities for those who are still children (and heroes!) at heart. Come spend your summer in a story!

Strengthen Skills. Stay Social. Build Confidence.
Winston Preparatory School’s curated summer programs provide opportunities for academic enrichment, essential skill development, and social connection for students with dyslexia, ADHD, and NVLD.
At Winston Prep, your child’s summer program is designed based on our understanding of their individual learning profile, allowing for instruction that is precisely tailored to their strengths and needs. From time management and executive function skill-building to self-advocacy and navigating social communication, students build the independence and confidence needed for the upcoming school year.
The month-long programs are designed to develop language, encoding/decoding, reading comprehension, writing, math, test preparation, organization and time management skills at each student’s appropriate level, while also providing opportunities for students to have fun and connect with peers both in and outside the classroom.
Unlike other learning models and programs, Winston Prep groups students by learning profile and provides daily 1:1 instruction. Classes are intentionally small, allowing teachers to work closely with students, adapt instruction in real time, and foster meaningful connections. This individualization, combined with social-emotional learning and essential skill development, leads to clear improvements in academic achievement, resilience, and connections with others.

Winston Preparatory School offers in-person programming at the New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Long Island campuses as well as fully virtual sessions via Winston Online, so that your child can participate from anywhere.

STEVE & KATE’S
When you trust kids, they trust themselves. Since 1980, Steve & Kate’s has put kids in charge of their own learning experience. As they try, fail, and learn on their own, they learn to trust their own judgment and tackle the challenges of an ever-changing world with creativity and confidence.
Campers choose from a variety of activities in real-time, including sewing, stop-motion animation, music, coding, sports & rec, makers crafts, baking, & more. They’ll decide what they want to do and for how long.
Just like everything else at Steve & Kate’s, kids will get to choose their lunch entree daily. Most of their meals come from local vendors and are prepared just moments before lunch. They throw in snacks and the occasional frozen treat to boot!
Families can buy as many days as they’d like and use them at any time. No weekly reservations are required–just show up! Or, if you need more care, purchase a Summer Pass, which covers the whole season. If, for any reason, your plans change, they’ll automatically refund any unused Passes in full at summer’s end.
Ages: 4–12 | Lunch, snacks, and all hours (8am–6pm) included. Now, in 70+ locations! Visit steveandkates.com to learn more and to sign up.
